About Dongba Script
The pictographic writing of the Naxi people of Yunnan. About 1,400 picture signs depicting humans, animals, and ritual objects. Priests called dongba use it as a memory aid for reciting ceremonies rather than full writing. Often called the last living pictographic script. UNESCO recognized the manuscripts as world documentary heritage.
