About Hieratic
The cursive form of Egyptian hieroglyphs, written with ink on papyrus. Developed at nearly the same time as hieroglyphs. Scribes used it for everyday documents while reserving hieroglyphs for monuments. Far more ligatured and flowing. Most surviving Egyptian literature, from letters to medical texts, was written in hieratic.
