About Khitan Scripts
The writing of the Khitan people who ruled the Liao dynasty. Two systems existed: a large script modeled on Chinese characters and a small script of phonetic blocks. The small script packed logograms into squares read in multiple directions. Largely undeciphered because the Khitan language is poorly known. Fell from use when the dynasty fell in 1125.
