About Borama Script
Also called Gadabuursi script, an alphabet for Somali devised by Sheikh Abdurahman Sheikh Nur. A phonetically accurate system tested in local schools. Competed with Osmanya and the Arabic script before Latin won official status in 1972. Only a handful of manuscripts survive.
