The most widely used writing system on Earth. Derived from the Etruscan alphabet which came from Greek. Originally had 21 letters, expanded to 26 in modern English. Used by over 2.5 billion people daily in over 100 languages. The letter E is the most common letter in English. J and U were the last additions, added in the 16th century.
