About Demotic
The everyday script of late Egypt, from a Greek word meaning popular. Evolved from hieratic and even faster to write. Dominated administrative writing for a thousand years. One of the three scripts on the Rosetta Stone. Survived until the 5th century AD, outlasting hieroglyphic writing itself.
