About Etruscan Alphabet
The alphabet of ancient Etruria, adapted from Greek letters brought by traders. In turn it evolved into the Latin alphabet used worldwide today. About 13,000 inscriptions survive, mostly short funerary formulas. The letters can be read easily, but the Etruscan language itself remains only partly understood.
