About Gupta Script
The refined descendant of Brahmi used across the Gupta empire, a golden age of Sanskrit literature. Sharper and more angular than its ancestor. Gave rise to the Sharada script of Kashmir and the Siddham script carried to East Asia. Many Sanskrit classics were first written down in it. Calligraphic inscriptions mark temples and coinage.
