About Kikakui Script
A syllabic script for the Mende language of Sierra Leone. Invented by Mohamed Turay around 1920 and spread by his students. Roughly 200 signs organized in rows by initial consonant. Once widely used for records and personal letters. Competition with the Latin alphabet has shrunk its user base.
