About Ogham
An early medieval alphabet used for primitive Irish. Written along the edge of a stone from bottom to top. Has 20 standard letters grouped in four sets of five. Over 400 surviving inscriptions, mostly in Ireland and Wales. Each letter is named after a tree. The alphabet may have been used as a secret code.
