About Pahlavi
The script of Middle Persian under the Sasanian empire. Derived from Aramaic with heavy use of logograms where Aramaic words were read as Persian. Highly cursive, with many letters merging into similar shapes. Zoroastrian religious books were preserved in book Pahlavi after the Arab conquest. Challenging even for ancient scribes, who needed separate dictionaries.
