About Rongorongo
A system of glyphs carved on wooden objects. Discovered by Europeans in 1864. Has not been definitively deciphered. May be one of the very few independent inventions of writing. Most artifacts were destroyed or lost. Only 26 surviving objects with inscriptions. Could be proto-writing rather than full writing.
