About Siddham
A late Brahmic script prized as the vehicle of Buddhist tantra. Pilgrims carried it to China and Japan, where monks still copy mantras in it today. The name means perfected. By the 10th century it had died out in India while surviving in East Asian temples. Kukai, founder of Japanese Shingon Buddhism, studied it in China.
